Franklin Scene LogoThis Week and Last in Franklin, TN

Last weekend marked the end of the first full week of school for most Williamson County public school children. The weather was delicious and rather unseasonably cool, which meant families were pouring out of their houses to get outside and play.

What about you? Were you able to make it to any of the events we mentioned last week? Ready for what’s to come this week in the Franklin Scene.

Seen On the Scene

Harvest PartyLast Saturday, Kix Brooks hosted the second annual Harvest Party at Arrington Vineyards. The event raises money for Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Though the Vineyard was still free to enter, proceeds from the sale of wine, t-shirts and Hatch Show prints were donated.

Even with spotty weather, the crowd was loyal and ready to go. Expecting an audience of nearly  3,000, Brooks himself  performed at 6 that evening. Just prior to that, he spent time among the crowd signing autographs and speaking to visitors.

Natchez Trace Wine TrailDid you know that Arrington Vineyard was once part of the Natchez Trace Wine Trail? This historic, scenic tour is a fantastic tourist to-do, but also a great day trip opportunity for residents.

Even long time Franklinites are unaware that there are multiple wineries along the Trace. Each one offers local wine of course, but also beautiful scenery and a taste of Tennessee history.

Natchez Trace was the trail that connected the landlocked parts of central Tennessee to Alabama and the Mississippi River. Now a parkway, the Trace is one of the most beautiful drives in the area.
