Author Neale Donald Walsch once said, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” We couldn’t agree more. Comfort is a visual word. It brings to mind images like a warm quilted blanket on a cold day, a steaming mug of cocoa, or a roaring fire. Uncomfortable is another set of images entirely. Whether you’re starting a new project, making a move, or saying yes to what you want instead of “not right now,” it’s uncomfortable taking the first step.
It’s also freeing.
Once you leap out of your comfort zone, you’ve entered the land where all the magic happens. It’s the theory of ask and receive, have a little faith and you can believe your world into something new. It’s as simple as giving yourself permission to welcome what you are seeking and dreaming. Don’t you deserve that? You might be surprised how often the obstacle in your own path is you.
In using social media, it’s easy to lose comfort. To question how to market yourself, who you should become, what your platform and persona should be. It’s easy, one might say, to talk yourself out of taking the leap.
But you get to choose. You can allow comfort to be replaced by enthusiasm. Dare to start, to try, to be yourself as you do so. Authenticity is far more convincing than any sales gimmick or derivative slogan.
Don’t cage yourself in, or limit what you can become. Research to get the answer you’re in search of or ask a professional to assist you in cultivating what you need. It might be web design, a marketing campaign, or, if you’re looking beyond the social media realm, ask yourself who you need to speak with to help you get where you want to go. Often the answers are already there, waiting to be heard. It only takes a moment to listen.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. So. What are you waiting for?
