In remembrance of the anniversary of the Battle of Franklin, a crowd of 600 gathered at Carnton Plantation where they heard a recounting of the events that occurred there on November 30, 1864. Visitors were invited to free tours of the Confederate Cemetery, the Carnton family home, and the Carter House. Each of these sites is also open to public tours throughout the year, and they are well worth the trip! Visit Franklin Home Page for a detailed account of last week’s event with video.
